Shapell Properties Bill West, Chief Executive Officer

Bill West

Chief Executive Officer

Bill West serves as the CEO of Shapell Properties, leveraging over three decades of real estate leadership. He joined Shapell in 2011 as CFO and swiftly rose to become CEO in 2012. Prior to Shapell, Bill held key positions at real estate giants like Dunmore Homes, American Golf Corporation, and Kaufman and Broad Home Corporation. He also contributed his expertise to KPMG, LLP in consulting and accounting. Bill is a University of Southern California graduate and a Certified Public Accountant (inactive). Bill West's seasoned leadership continues to drive Shapell Properties' success.

Jon Sasaki

Chief Financial Officer

Jon Sasaki serves as Shapell Properties' Chief Financial Officer, Secretary, and Treasurer, overseeing financial management, tax compliance, and strategic planning. With a career spanning 35 years, Jon brings extensive expertise in finance and business leadership. Before joining Shapell in 2012, he held the role of CFO at Premium One Realty Partners and served as the Chief Operating Officer at the S.K.Y Companies, a master-plan developer and commercial property operator. Jon also served as the Los Angeles Division President of Richmond American Homes, overseeing land acquisition, development, and single-family home sales. He started his career at Ernst & Whinney, a prominent public accounting firm. Jon holds a Master of Real Estate Development and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Southern California. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Benjamin Gemperle

Corporate Counsel

Ben Gemperle serves as Shapell's Corporate Counsel, overseeing the company's comprehensive legal needs. He masterfully balances risk management with astute business judgment to maximize the company's success. In his role as the lead in-house counsel, Ben collaborates with Shapell's Commercial and Multifamily Operations teams, Human Resources, the Finance department, and the Company's Construction group. This collaboration aims to advance the company's interests and seize opportunities. Ben also efficiently manages all of the company's litigation matters and handles corporate formation, maintenance, and governance for Shapell Properties and its numerous subsidiaries and affiliates. Ben's influence extends to working closely with the Company's President, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and the Board of Directors. This collaboration is geared towards guiding the company to realize its full potential while simultaneously mitigating liability. Ben's unwavering commitment centers on protecting the company's interests and upholding its values by harmonizing the rule of law with intricate business considerations.
Andrew Dewar Shapell Properties Vice President, Construction

Andrew Dewar

Vice President, Construction

Andrew joined Shapell Properties as Vice President Construction in February 2014. During this time a number of residential and commercial ground up projects have been undertaken equating to 881 apartment units and 265,000 sf of commercial. Prior to Shapell Andrew had undertaken retail, apartment and office development projects representing companies like Combined Properties Inc., Panattoni Development Company, JH Snyder Co, Bren Investment Properties and Turner Construction Company. Most notable projects include NOHO Commons, West Hollywood Gateway, Howard Hughes Entertainment Center, Westwood Gateway and 330 North Brand. Andrew holds a civil engineering degree from the University of California Berkeley.

Eileen Chang

Vice President, Human Resources

Eileen is a dedicated Human Resource leader, driving organizational excellence. As the Vice President of Human Resources, she is adept in aligning her departments HR initiatives with the Company’s overall business objectives. Eileen leverages strategic talent management to foster a thriving, inclusive workplace. She possesses a proven track record in cultivating a strong company culture and optimizing HR processes for operational efficiencies. Prior to joining Shapell Properties, Eileen served as leadership for Fortune 500 Companies such as TD Waterhouse (currently TD Ameritrade) and CNA Insurance. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.

Konstantin Glater

Vice President, Corporate Controller

Konstantin Glater is Vice President, Corporate Controller at Shapell Properties Inc. and has served in this role since September of 2020. Konstantin oversees the company’s accounting, financial reporting, finance, treasury, tax, and debt compliance. Prior to joining the company, Konstantin was the Vice President of Accounting, Finance & Capital Markets at CIM Group., L. P. Prior to that, he was a Director of Real Estate Development Accounting and Capital Forecasting at Alexandria Real Estate Equites., an S&P 500 urban office REIT. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Manager of Construction and Development Accounting at Macerich, a public traded REIT. Konstantin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from National University.

Randall McKillop

Vice President, Technology

The Vice President of Technology oversees the Information Technology department at Shapell. Managing all technology services at the corporate level and for the portfolio Properties. Randall brings over 20 years of experience as a technology leader. Over the last eight years, Randall has focused on operating technology for Real Estate environments, developing institutional knowledge for operating technology within built environments, and the global Proptech community. Before joining Shapell Randall served as the EVP of the Americas at Mallcomm, a Proptech SaaS platform and as the SVP of Digital Services and Products at Westfield, now URW.

Peter Houck

Senior Vice President, Commercial

Peter Houck boasts 24 years of retail, office, and mixed-use portfolio management. His role at Shapell includes overseeing asset management, operations, leasing, and financial performance, along with shaping the strategic vision for portfolio expansion. Previously, Peter served as SVP of Asset Management at CenterCal Properties, managing a portfolio of 22 shopping centers across multiple western US markets. He also held management roles at premier assets with Related Urban. In his early career, he managed properties with Brookfield Properties and Urban Retail Properties. Peter holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Iowa and is an active ICSC member.

Callie Paranick

Vice President, Portfolio Manager

Callie joined Shapell Properties in 2023 as Vice President, Portfolio Manager within the Commercial division. She oversees asset management, leasing, tenant coordination and property management departments. Callie has nearly 20 years of commercial real estate experience working with open-air neighborhood and community centers, high street, enclosed malls, and mixed-use assets. Previously, Callie worked at RREEF/DWS as Vice President, Asset Manager. During her time at RREEF she was responsible for managing a $1.7B portfolio of institutional-quality retail assets within California. She executed business plans, integrated new acquisitions into the portfolio and led teams that successfully positioned assets as profitable investments. Prior to joining RREEF, Callie was an Asset Manager at CenterCal Properties and worked on ground up lifestyle center development projects along with managing the core portfolio. Callie graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Real Estate Finance. She is an active member of ICSC.

John Love

Vice President, Development and Acquisitions

With over 25 years of experience in commercial property development and operations, John Love serves as Shapell’s Vice President of Acquisitions and Development. John joined Shapell in 2013 to oversee the leasing and operations of Shapell’s 3-million square-foot commercial portfolio, later transitioning to focus on acquisitions and development. Notable achievements include the remodeling and repositioning of a number of retail centers, and spearheading the development of The Vineyards at Porter Ranch, a mixed-use center in northwest Los Angeles, comprising approximately 220,000 square feet of retail, a 50,000 square foot medical office building, a 100-key hotel, and a 266-unit multifamily community. Before Shapell, John worked as the Director of Commercial Properties for Decron Properties in Los Angeles. Between 2000 and 2010, he focused on leasing, asset management and development of retail and multifamily properties in California, Arizona and Colorado at privately held Nearon Enterprises. John is an alumnus of UCLA and the University of Arizona.

Adrian Taghdiri

Senior Director, Development and Acquistions

Adrian Taghdiri is Shapell Properties' Senior Director, Commercial Development and Acquisitions. He spearheads the company's national expansion and project development. Notable projects include Conejo Summit, a proposed 750,000 square foot business park in Thousand Oaks, California, and The Vineyards at Porter Ranch, a 300,000+ square foot mixed-use project in Los Angeles, anchored by Whole Foods Market, AMC Theatres, and Kaiser Permanente. Before joining Shapell in 2017, Adrian was Acquisitions and Development Manager at Continental Development Group. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley, and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law. Adrian also shares his knowledge as a guest lecturer at Southwestern Law School.

Beau May, the Director of Leasing at Shapell since February 2023, brings a wealth of experience to his role. Before joining Shapell, Beau spent over seven years as the Director of Leasing for VF Corporation, where he oversaw leasing activity across the Western US and Canada. Managing a portfolio of 350 locations, he executed real estate strategies for all VF brands, including Vans, The North Face, Timberland, Icebreaker, Smartwool, Dickies, and more. His work encompassed a wide array of transaction types, such as high-street locations, regional malls, lifestyle centers, community centers, and various product types, including retail, office, showroom, and manufacturing facilities. Beau's extensive experience extends beyond leasing, covering landlord and tenant leasing, development, project management, and shopping center management. He holds a master's degree in real estate from the University of San Diego and was honored with the Daniel B. Woodruff Memorial Scholarship, awarded to the most outstanding student pursuing a career in real estate each semester. Beau is deeply passionate about creating vibrant and engaging shopping centers through creative merchandising strategies and strong deal-making skills.

Michael Pynn

Director, Property Management

With 24 years of experience in Retail, Office, and Multifamily property management, Michael Pynn specializes in upscale mixed-use assets. His career began in real estate inspections for loan acquisitions and later expanded to managing a portfolio of 3,500-unit Class A assets and a total of 2M Square feet of mixed-use retail in both Northern and Southern California. Throughout his career, he held roles such as Portfolio Manager, General Manager, and Director of Property Management, working with notable companies like FPI Management, RK Properties, Holland Residential, Kennedy Wilson, Federal Realty Investment Trust, and Center Cal Properties. Michael's expertise extends to managing new development mixed-use leases for projects like Santana Row, Lavere, Misora, The Collection at Riverpark, and The Annex Food Hall. His experience and dedication remain vital in the real estate industry.

Racheal Tracy

Senior Director, Tenant Coordination

Racheal Tracy is at the helm of Shapell Properties, Inc.'s Tenant Coordination department, leading a dedicated team that tirelessly collaborates to inspire, inform, and advise tenants for successful and timely openings. With a distinguished career, Racheal spent fourteen years with JLL as the Tenant Coordination Manager for Southern California. Prior to that, she dedicated nine years to the Irvine Company Retail Properties as a Tenant Coordinator. Her exceptional contributions were acknowledged when she earned the titles of a 2020 Emerging Leader and a PDS Gold Achiever in 2021 during her tenure with JLL. Racheal's extensive project portfolio in California includes landmark locations such as the Vineyards at Porter Ranch, Manhattan Village Shopping Center, City Center at Bishop Ranch, The Point, Lido Marina Village, Hollywood Park Retail, Ivy Station, Irvine Spectrum Center, The Market Place, and thirty-three Neighborhood & Community shopping centers. Additionally, she recently collaborated with B/S/H, the parent company of Bosch, Thermadore, and Gaggenau, on the design and construction of their new Experience Design Center in Beverly Hills, California.

Thomas Jajeh

Regional Director

Thomas Jajeh, who joined Shapell in June 2017, serves as the head of the Northern California commercial team and holdings. With a strong educational foundation, Thomas holds a Masters in Finance from the University of Colorado Denver and a Bachelors in Business Administration from San Diego State University. In his role, Thomas consistently delivers above-benchmark returns through successful leasing, entitlement, and development efforts. He is known for his sincere interest in those he works with and is committed to operating with integrity while driving value for the company. Beyond his professional responsibilities, Thomas actively participates in volunteer leadership roles with organizations such as Pacific Service Credit Union, Urban Land Institute, and ICSC.

Dom McClure

Vice President, Asset Management

Dom McClure spearheads asset management for Shapell's multifamily portfolio, leveraging 15 years of real estate industry experience. His career journey includes roles at Wood Partners, HUBB NYC, and CBRE. In his asset management capacity, he has successfully overseen diverse portfolios of multifamily and retail assets in major markets across the Western US and New York City. Dom earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Columbia University and holds an MBA with a concentration in Real Estate from USC's Marshall School of Business.

Jody Piccinino

Vice President, Property Management

Jody Piccinino is a multifamily real estate professional with extensive knowledge and experience in the industry. Her impressive career spans multiple markets, with a remarkable track record in Southern California, Arizona, and Texas. Jody's expertise covers a wide range of asset classes, from new construction mixed-use properties to affordable and senior housing. Jody holds a master's degree in organizational leadership and is an active member of the Institute of Real Estate Management. Known as a "people-first" leader, she serves as a culture ambassador and plays a pivotal role in implementing global culture initiatives. Jody's infectious energy is her trademark and what makes her a strong collaborator and builder of effective teams.

Taylor Glieden

Vice President, Development and Acquistions

Taylor Glieden, Shapell Properties' Vice President of Development and Acquisitions since October 2023, boasts over 11 years of multifamily development expertise in Southern California.
His role encompasses comprehensive management of the development process, covering site acquisition, due diligence, entitlements, design, construction, financing, and dispositions. Before joining Shapell, Taylor served as the Development Manager for WS Communities, where he spearheaded the acquisition, entitlement, design, and development of ground-up mixed-use/multifamily projects in Santa Monica and Los Angeles, California. Taylor Glieden holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a Minor in Urban Planning and Regional Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Debbie Blaine

Regional Property Director

Debbie Blaine is a seasoned professional in the multifamily housing industry, with a career that has seen her rise from a Leasing Agent to her current role as a Regional Multifamily Director. With experience as a Leasing Agent, Community Manager, and Regional Supervisor, Debbie brings a wealth of knowledge to her current position. Currently, Debbie manages nine properties in Southern California, including an additional property under construction. Her portfolio includes a diverse range of units, from market rate to affordable housing. Notably, Debbie has been instrumental in representing the operations side of management during the construction phase of seven of these properties.
