San Jose, CA (April 8, 2026) – Summer Fridays are back and better than ever, bringing live music, themed nights, and community celebration to Evergreen Village Square.
Presented by Councilmember Domingo Candelas, the 2026 Music in the Square Summer Concert Series kicks off Friday, June 5, 2026, and continues every Friday evening through August 28, 2026 (no concert on Friday, July 3), from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This free, family-friendly series transforms the Square into a lively outdoor gathering place where neighbors can unwind, connect, and celebrate summer together.
The 2026 season features an energetic mix of classic rock, Latin rhythms, funk, dance hits, Bollywood beats, and high-energy crowd favorites, offering something for every generation.

July 3 – No Concert (Community members are encouraged to visit Lake Cunningham on July 4 for the annual drone show)

“Music in the Square is one of the highlights of summer,” said Councilmember Domingo Candelas. “It’s an opportunity for neighbors of all ages to come together, enjoy great live music, support local businesses, and celebrate the strong sense of community that makes District 8 so special. I’m excited to welcome everyone back for another unforgettable season.”
The series will close on August 28th with a special concert finale & Movie Night celebration, featuring a family-friendly outdoor screening of the Disney favorite Finding Dory, bringing one last memorable summer evening to the Square.
Tenant Activations & Community Participation
This year’s series will also feature special promotions, pop-ups, and activations from participating Evergreen Village Square tenants, including Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming and VE Art Studio, with additional tenants to be announced. Guests can visit participating booths throughout the evening to enjoy special offers, promotions, and interactive experiences.
Concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early, support local businesses, grab dinner or dessert, and make a full evening of it.
Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating.
About Domingo Candelas
Domingo Candelas was born and raised in Council District 8 of San José, California. He is one of five siblings from immigrant parents who came to Silicon Valley in search of the American Dream from Zacatecas, Mexico. He is a proud product of John J. Montgomery Elementary, and Chaboya Middle School of the Evergreen School District as well as Evergreen Valley High School of the East Side Union High School District.
